Bejar 56 restarts their 2022 zoo outing

Alhambra members host zoo trip and lunch to God’s special guests

Bejar Caravan 56, Order of the Alhambra, hosted physically and developmentally disabled individuals and some of their staff to a day at the San Antonio Zoo and lunch at Brackenridge Park on May 4.

This is an annual event, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, 2019 was the last year in which Caravan 56 had hosted this effort. This year the Bejar Caravan hosted 316 guests, which has been the lowest number they have supported to date. In 2016, the caravan hosted 809 guests, which was the largest attendance.

This event was made possible through the team efforts of the sponsors and donors — Catholic Life Insurance, Ricos Products, Flowers Baking, and the San Antonio Zoo) — as well as Caravan members, St. Rose of Lima Columbiettes, and the Sultanas. The chairmen for the event was Past Grand Commander (PGC) David Gomez.
