The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio donates trees to Catholic Charities

For the fourth year, CHRISTUS Children’s Hospital of San Antonio donated 50 decorated and themed Christmas trees to Catholic Charities’ families in need this Christmas. CHRISTUS hosts an internal Christmas tree decorating contest among its various departments. The trees are judged on their child-friendly theme and creative use of materials.

Families from Catholic Charities’ Guadalupe Community Center, St. Stephen’s CARE Center, Family and Children’s Services, and Refugee Resettlement Services were given the opportunity to personally select a decorated Christmas tree for their home on December 17 at Catholic Charities’ headquarters. Through the CHRISTUS Accountable Health Community Grant, community health workers screen clients in the Emergency Department and health clinics and refer at-risk patients to St. Stephen’s CARE Center for food, clothing, utility assistance, and other services.
