Prayer service during time of war implores for peace in Ukraine
SAN ANTONIO • As the rest of the world continues to watch the aftermath of Russia’s invasion into Ukraine, the archdiocese is offering its support through prayer.
Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, and Father John Mefrige, pastor of Three Hierarchs Byzantine Melkite Catholic Mission, led a prayer service for peace in Ukraine at on March 7 at St. Joseph’s Chapel in the archdiocesan Pastoral Center.
“May Christ our true God, through the prayers of His immaculate and all-holy Mother, of our father among the saints, John Chrysostom, archbishop of Constantinople, of St. Joseph, patron of this church, and of Sts. Perpetua and Felicity, and all the saints, will have mercy and save us, for He is good and loves mankind,” prayed Archbishop Gustavo.
